The Sorkin Notes: MLB Trade Deadline Edition

Watching MLB channel on the new 37 inch vizio tv I purchased the other day and the rumors are swirling. Heres a quick run down of what I'm hearing in case you haven't.

Jake Westbrook - potential deal sending him from Cleveland Indians to St. Louis. Looks imminent

Adam Dunn - Chicago White Soxs working hard on a deal to procure the masher. Newly acquired Edwin Jackson supposedly the center piece if the deal goes down. Don't be surprised if Braves get in on this. Washington has a HIGH price tag though.

Manny Ramirez - Chi Soxs looking at him as a second option. Surprising but Real Chatter!

Ted Lilly - deal looks imminent sending him from Cubs to Dodgers

Lance Berkman - the rich get richer. Yankees have acquired him from Houston its just a formality that the deal has not been officially announced

Carlos Zambrano - Cubs offered Mets a swap of Zambrano for Oliver Perez but the Mets would be taking on more money so they want to throw Luis Castillo in on the deal. Looks dead though.

Brett Myers - the wife beater has been drawing a lot of interest but a high price tag is preventing a deal from getting done.

Ryan Ludwig - Padres are trying to acquire some pop in their over performing line up. Looks possible with that log jam the Cardinals have in the outfield. How do you keep Colby Rasmus on the bench? Pardres are serious contenders. *Possible 3 team trade part of the Jake Westbrook deal.

Ken Rosenthal - still a midget

Deadline is 4 hours away!
Mets will still be as miserable 4 hours from now and I'm going to the game tonight. THATS' DEDICATION!
