Francoeur Freed From Slavery

RealGM - Mets outfielder Jeff Francoeur says he’s been traded to the Rangers, according to an Associated Press report.

The Rangers have been looking for a right-handed hitter to come off the bench for the final month of the season and their expected postseason appearance. The deal had to be completed by Tuesday night in order for Francoeur to be eligible for the playoff roster.

The teams have yet to officially announce the trade, but the strong-armed Francoeur said after a loss to Atlanta that he’s headed to the Rangers.

This is similar to a prisoner on death row miraculously being released from prison. Forget getting a stay of execution or having your sentenced reduced this is like having a real life get out of jail free card. Jeff gets to bring his cannon arm and decent numbers against lefties to a World Series contender. I'm sure he won't complain about sharing time now that he's on a playoff team. That issue will die faster than Mets fans hopes of an 07 Rockies-esq run the minute this trade was announced.

Good for Jeff, hes been a good sport all year and was ultimately going to be non-tendered in the off-season anyway so the Mets took care of him. Now he brings his football mentality to a state that will appreciate it while getting the chance to showcase his talents on the big stage, in chase of a championship none the less. Jeff is a great clubhouse guy and great weapon for Ron Washington to have in the playoffs as runners will think twice about rounding third.

One question remains...Can you take me with you Jeff?

P.S. - Who the fuck is the twatwaffle the Mets got back in the trade?
