Here we go again bros, Dbl-A is serving up yet another helping of my personal favorite SportsBrah's column: Perverted Announcers. You know, It's never easy finding some of these borderline, out of context pervo lines, because the fact of the matter is, announcers and broadcasters do a really good job at keeping things inconspicuous. Or so they think. Bottom line, is these announcers may think they just slipped in a perverted comment without anyone realizing, but what they don't know is that I'm constantly on the prowl to find them. Kinda like the way R. Kelly is at recess. Relentless.
During the Friday night Yankees/ White Sox game in Chicago, YES Network announcer Ken Singleton had this little tid bit for us:
"Quentin can get the head out and get it through the hole"
Wait a minute here. Kenny, are we watching the same thing on t.v. bro? I mean, I'm pretty sure I was watching game 1 of the Yanks/White Sox series, but you sound like you narrating a throw back porno starring Ron Jeremy, circa 1985. Listen, out of context or not, you gotta come up with better word choices then this. ANYTHING else would be better. Granted, it is possible that Singleton was discussing the White Sox Carlos Quentin's love of playing "just the tip." You know, just to see how it feels. No beef here, but Kenny you got to be somewhat more clear for the fans at home who haven't seen Wedding Crashers, or for those who are devout religious followers. Can't just spit out XXX rated broadcasting like this, people are sensitive, gosh. It's all going to be okay though for Singleton, just know you didn't get away with this one. 10 our fathers, and 5 hail mary's you should be good to go bro. But officially, a pervert you are Ken.
