The Road Trip from Hell

Mets lost a tough game last night in San Fran. Robert Allen Dickey pitched his heart out once again, but it wasn't enough as Tim Lincecum hurled a six hit complete game shut out. As a fan, its always disappointing to lose a game but, the way Dickey pitched made it easier to stomach. I mean come on, its Big Time Timmy Jim Lincecum. I mailed this one in when I saw the probables in the paper yesterday, but Dickey tossed another quality outing for the Mets and deserves commendation.

Dickey made one mistake, serving up a meatball inside to Kung Fu Panda Pablo Sandoval which he knocked off the right field wall for an RBI double. Dickey didn't even consider that his biggest mistake, calling himself out for failing to get a bunt down that could have led to some solid runs.

Gotta say this but I <3 the Dickey. Guy says everything you would want a team player to say in the post game interviews. Answers the tough questions, doesn't shift blame, just pitches his heart out for his squad and tries to put his team in position to win. I was dogging this guy early in the season, but without him where would we be. Thanks for the quality starts bro!! and thanks for rocking some awesome Bro Flow.

The Road Trip from Hell continues tonight with game 2 as Jonathan Niese will face off against Barry Zito.

No Reyes again tonight which is a bummer, but we've won games without his bat and if Niese throws another solid start, we have a good shot at snagging our first win of the road trip

P.S. - Beltran sighting last night: 1 for 4 with a caught stealing but made some solid plays in the outfield which i found rather encouraging. Could have sworn I saw him dawning a cape and mask in center, reaffirming his phantom status.
