The Road Trip From Hell: Game 3

The record is now 0-3 on The Road Trip From Hell. The Met lineup was just what the doctor ordered for struggling Giant starter Matt Cain. Cain went 7 strong, scattering 4 hits while walking 1, striking out 3 and giving up only 2 earned runs. Takahashi with his standard not so hot performance. Im not even going to read the line because the Mets were out of this game early as the Giants had a 6-0 lead by the end of the 3rd inning.

Nothing but frustration ladies and germs. I can not take this. I turn on the game ready to watch America's pastime but instead I get America's Wasteland. It makes me want to vomit all over the television screen. Granted, the pitching wasn't there, but the Mets have bats that should be able to keep them in games.

We need Reyes back now! We need that speed back in the line up and then things may actually fall into place. Jerry Manuel isn't going to start Reyes today and I commend him for that; this series is already a lost cause so why not give him one more extra day to rest that oblique. Sunday's reports have him pain-free and scheduled to return Monday in Arizona.

On the brighter side, Ike Davis broke from his little skid going 2-4 with 2 homers and 3 rbis. One, a 2-run bomb, landed in McCovey cove.

Ike's got pop BRO!  Clean up spot serves him well, leave him there Jerry! Stop finagling with this lineup. Its like that infomercial says, "Set it and forget it."
Lineup should read as follows once everyone comes back healthy:
Reyes-SS, Pagan-LF, Wright-3B, Davis-1B, Beltran-CF, Bay-LF, Barajas-C, Castillo-2B, Pitcher
*wouldn't mind swapping Wright and Beltran's spots until Beltran gets into a groove.

I'm really not trying to get swept here. It would be a crushing way to end the first series of this road trip. Phillies just over took the Mets for 2nd place in the NL East and the Braves sport a chunky 5 game lead. Can we get a sense of urgency here?!?!

Brohan Santana toes the rubber today, facing off against Jonathan Sanchez at 4:05 ET. Santana has been nothing short of an ace in his past 3 starts and is here to save the day and stop the skid. Question is, will the bats supply him any offense? Please lord, let us escape from San Fran with one win. LETS GO METS!!

SAVE THE DAY BRO!
