People This is Golf! Day 2 at the British Open

Through 36 holes South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen has shot a -12 total, after a solid 5 under performance on Friday to move into the outright lead at St. Andrews.

His 15 birdies through the first two rounds has set a new record for the last three British Open Championships at St. Andrews and he seems very poised to continue his strong play into Saturday and Sunday.

Oosthuizen's excellent play has essentially overshadowed the history that the young phenom Rory McIlroy achieved on Thursday night as the tournament started. The kid tied a record for best round at St. Andrews with a staggering round of 63, but has quickly fallen on day 2 thanks to 6 bogeys, 1 double bogey, and 11 pars on the round. Why the sudden fall off? Well look at the facts: He's 21 and just tied a course record at a major golf championship. Hello!? He was probably out dropping jager bombs, and throwing twenty's at English strippers like it was going out of style all last night. Let's not even mention that fact that he rocks an awesome curly BRO FLOW! The SportsBrah's respect that.

So speaking of wasted talent, where the hell did John Daly go? (wasted talent, get it?) After playing himself into the top 5 yesterday, and easily surprising a lot of people, Daly shot a +4 on the day to make himself once again irrelevant. It will be interesting over these next two days to see if he can bounce back. The knock on Daly hasn't ever been his talent. He's got all the makeup and skill set of a winner but can never seem to coordinate it with his booze habits and degenerate gambling problems. At least he doesn't try and hide it I guess.

Tiger is at -4 after a +1 for today and while he's currently tied for 15th, look for everybody's favorite sex addict to make a run at this major. I mean, I give the guy a lot of credit. Elin just took more then a quarter of a BILLION from him and he's given up pissing on strippers to get back to his old form. I don't question his work ethic, but rather how much he misses being a complete man whore. Not easy to change on a whim like that.
