To make up for the lack job we are gonna double up this week so that all the numbers even out at the end of the season. Giants had a bye last week so I only have to pick 9 games while Dbl-A has to role out with 10 this week. 2 upset picks per person as well.
Standings: Amato 20-14 vs Susi 18-17
Picks:
1. New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks - Pick: Giants
Charlie Whitehurst's first NFL career start comes against a team that has "killed" 5, count em, 5 quarter backs this year. Qwest Field is loud as fuck when the crowd gets into the game. Problem is the Seahawks will need to be IN the game for the crowd to be a factor. THEY WON'T and I'll make a prediction Whitehurst becomes number 6 on the "death chart." JetBlue you are cleared for take off. Let em fly Eli!
2. Chicago Bears at Buffalo Bills (+3) - Pick: Bills
Upset Pick: Yo the Bills have played pretty well lately. They scored a ridiculous amount of points against the Ravens of all teams (34) in week 7 then should have beet the Chiefs last week in OT. The Bears suck plain and simps. Don't let me down Buffalo, remember, you do reside in New York.
3. Indianapolis Colts (+3) at Philadelphia Eagles - Pick: Colts
Upset Pick: Okay I get it, The Eagles are favorites causes its A.) A Home Game and B.) Michael Vick is back but I'm not sold that they should be the favorites. Vick should be well rested but a bit rusty and Peyton is Peyton. Nothing phases this guy and knowing he's playing his little brothers division rival, why not do him a favor and keep it in the family. Help me out Peyton.
4. San Diego Chargers at Houston Texans - Pick: Chargers
Yea, I'm back to having faith in the Chargers. They have a solid defense and to me, Philip Rivers was the first half MVP. After last weeks impressive win against the Titans, who sport a stout D, they should have no problem with the Texans softer than a roll of Charmin defense. Here comes the perennial Chargers run to reclaim their division after a slow start.
5. New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns - Pick: Patriots
When you have Tom Brady anything is possible but I'm truly not sold on the Patriots offense matched up against a stingy get after the QB defense. The Browns do come to play I'll give them that, only being blown out once (Steelers), and lets face it the Patriot D still looks soft with all the yards they give up. They have a shot at pulling off the upset but they MUST HIT BRADY for that to happen. If not, then the pretty boy will have all day to make the right decisions and lead his team to victory.
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons - Pick: Falcons
This is a tough game to pick. The Buccaneers have chemistry and confidence on their side going into the Dirty Bird's Nest making them prime for an upset but am I willing to pick against a team I predicted an NFC South crown for, especially when they are playing at home. Hardest place to win in the NFL is on the road. The Falcons are rested coming off the bye week and want to make another statement inside their division. Matty ICE.
7. Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders - Pick: Chiefs
Don't look now but the Raiders and Chiefs are locked up in an actual meaningful division game. Raiders and Chiefs both have a great rushing attack and both sport pretty good defenses. Tom Cable must have thrown a boxing class in during practice cause the Raiders run defense defines smash mouth. The Chocolate Malt Ball also has the Chiefs defense holding it down. Don't sleep on the Raiders this season, they got moxy. I'm going with the Cassel over Campbell as the difference maker though but if the Raiders win, this team is for real and is going to be pesky for other teams to beat down the stretch.
8. Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys - Pick: Packers
Thinking of the Cowgirls record at 1-7 after this game puts an ear to ear smile on my face. Pack their meat Green Bay!
9. Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings - Pick: Vikings
Its a 9 game season for the Vikings if they want to have any shot at getting to the playoffs. Luckily for them they face the Cardinals in week 1. Cardinals defense SOFT Derek Anderson SOFT Cardinals run game SOFT. Favre's flaccid penis SOFT but that doesn't matter on Sunday. Vikings defense is good enough to shut down Derek Anderson (see Jared Allen in Jackass 3D - THE BLIND SIDE) and All Day is going to run wild on that soft Cardinal defense. Win it for Favre
