In case you missed it: Hypocrite Douche Arrested

TMZ - ESPN personality and popular sports columnist Jay Mariotti was arrested this morning (8/21/10) in Los Angeles this according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department website. Mariotti was arrested on a felony charge at 4:30 AM -- a police source tells us it is a domestic violence charge. He was held on $50,000 bail and released shortly after noon. Mariotti is a regular on the ESPN show "Around the Horn" and a writer for the popular sports website Fanhouse.com.


Well, well, well the guy who has constantly spoken out on athletes and domestic violence, Albert Belle, Randy Moss, Milton Bradley, Corey Dillon & Jason Kidd just to name a few, gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar. O, what a tangled web we weave Mr. Mariotti.


In 2002, Mariotti called out Jason Kidd on a domestic violence suit saying,


"A domestic abuser is not a hero in any arena. When a group of crude, drunken fans in Boston taunted him with chants of "Wife Beater! Wife Beater!" last week, I felt bad that Kidd's wife, Joumana, and the couple's 3-year-old son, T.J., had to endure such courtside harassment. Victims of violence shouldn't be subjected to cruel reminders. That said, did I feel bad for Kidd? Not really. This is the baggage he inherited, the scrutiny that never will fade."


Not to mention that just two weeks ago Mariotti called out the MLB and Bud Selig's lax handling of Francisco Rodriguez's recent in-clubhouse old man beating and on-field brawl between the Cardinals and Reds, calling it a threat to the popularity and image of "an already fading, increasingly irrelevant sport." 


So Bro, givin' the chance, would you take it all back?


Long story short, Practice what you preach!. To take a page out of your book, Do I feel bad? Not really. You inherited this baggage and the scrutiny as a hypocrite will never fade. Say goodbye to your dream job as ESPN will drop you faster than Lindsey Lohan blows .08s
